A log book exemption in Queensland is a provision that allows certain drivers to be exempt from the requirement to complete a log book of supervised driving hours when applying for a Queensland driver license. It simplifies the licensing process for eligible individuals by waiving the need to log a specific number of driving hours under supervision before progressing to a full driver license.

Eligibility for the log book exemption in Queensland can vary based on specific criteria set by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Generally, some common categories of drivers who may qualify for the exemption include:

   - Drivers aged over a certain threshold when applying for a full driver license.

   - Individuals with a foreign driver license seeking to convert it to a Queensland driver license.

   - Holders of driver licenses from other Australian states or territories wanting to transfer to a Queensland driver license.

The process to apply for a log book exemption in Queensland typically involves submitting the required documentation and information to the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Applicants may need to fill out a specific form, provide proof of eligibility, and adhere to any additional requirements specified by the authorities. It is advisable to check the official Queensland Department of Transport website for detailed instructions on how to apply for the exemption.

The rules of a log book generally include accurately recording all driving practice sessions as required, ensuring the supervisor meets the eligibility criteria, keeping the log book up to date, and presenting the log book for inspection when required, such as during a driving test or license application. Failure to comply with the log book rules may result in delays in obtaining a driver license.
